How does thanking help us think better? How we can apply gratitude when doing research?
How can being thankful help us flourish during the long-term stress of working on a PhD and enhance the supervisor-student relationship?
What is it about gratitude that is relevant to achieving the goals of higher education? 

This workshop will explore the relationship between the practice of gratitude and the process of researching and teaching. Based on recent research on the impact of gratitude in educational and other contexts, this workshop will explore the etymological and attitudinal links between thinking and thanking, and the implications of these links for how we approach our research and teaching.

It will also address the common challenges of implementing gratitude in daily life at university.
