In this lunch time seminar on NHMRC Early Career Fellowships, experienced NHMRC panel members and successful applicants will discuss ways to increase your chances of success in this NHMRC research and people support scheme.
The one hour presentation will include an informal discussion with a focus on: how this funding can help your research career; what's needed in a competitive application for this scheme; how to plan ahead and build your CV, research ideas and collaborations.
Researchers often under-estimate the long-term planning that's needed to develop their ideas and CVs to the point where they will be competitive in these NHMRC funding schemes.
This session, the first of five in the series, will help researchers understand what makes an application competitive and the steps they can take in the short and longer-term to meet the expectations of these different funding schemes.
Speakers will be comprised of a mix of experienced panel members and successful applicants from the Menzies Research Institute & Faculty of Health Science, including Prof Alison Venn and for this session, Dr Costan Magnussen and Dr Dawn Aitken.
This session is intended for UTAS HDR students and current level A/B researchers who would like to learn more about NHMRC Early Career funding.
