APOLOGIES, THIS SESSION HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LOW RSVP NUMBERS (30/08/13).
This event will seek to highlight the opportunities for collaboration between UTAS and the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) in medical research.

This event will also provide researchers with examples of the support and resources available at the two institutions for their research.

It will combine presentations with an opportunity for attendees and presenters to discuss their research in an informal setting over afternoon tea.

Invited speakers:

  • Professor Peter Mudge, Chair, Health and Medical HREC to provide a welcome
  • Heather Francis, CEO, Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation, to provide an introduction to the RHH Research Foundation and information on funding opportunities
  • Leah Wright, Menzies Research Institute, to discuss how research skill development feeds through to clinical practice, including with contrast echo, strain and 3D
  • A/Prof Leigh Blizzard, Menzies Research Institute,  to present on the biostates support process being developed and will provide guidance for clinicians regarding data format and analysis
  • David Tuck, UTAS/DHHS researcher, past recipient of RHH Research Foundation award, to present on his research
