The purpose of this presentation is to encourage research staff and HDR that have, or who are considering working with external partners (e.g. industry / government) to engage with the UTAS Office of Research Services (ORS) early, to allow them and UTAS more generally to maximise the benefits and impacts from collaborative research.
Specifically ORS can provide the commercial and Intellectual Property (IP) management support that will provide researchers with the confidence that there will be an equitable distribution of risk and reward and that the collaborative arrangements will maximise their opportunity to do more research and to ensure that there is an appropriate benefit back to the Universityâs stakeholders.
In the presentation, participants will learn a little about key IP concepts, and issues that impact on how commercial arrangements can be structured, and how this can be important to the long term to th benefits that researcher can personally share in when the commercialisation of IP is well managed.
Presented by Dr Darren Cundy. Director: Business Development & Technology Transfer.
This session is for UTAS staff and Higher Degree Research Students.
