Please contact the Office of Research Services (ORS) and we will ascertain whether we need to prepare the contract or obtain it from the funding body.
ORS (including our legal team) reviews the terms of the contract. Advice is returned to the Chief Investigator (CI) for review and instructions, with final approval by the CI and their Head of School (HoS), once negotiations are complete.
ORS facilitates signatures by all parties to the contract. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is the UTAS delegate for signing all research and consultancy contracts. The final signed copy of the contract is then sent to the CI, the School’s Finance Officer, HoS and to Finance. Finance will then open a finance account for the project. At this stage the project is recorded on the University's Web Access Research Portal (WARP).
The CI is responsible for all obligations that are outlined in the project agreement. It is important that the CI is aware of their contract obligations and responsibilities.
