Please contact the Office of Research Services (ORS) and we will ascertain whether we need to prepare the contract or obtain it from the funding body.
ORS (including our legal team) reviews the terms of the contract. Advice is returned to the Chief Investigator for review and instructions, with final approval by the Head of School once negotiations are complete.
ORS facilitates signatures by all parties to the contract and forwards a final signed copy to the Chief Investigator and to Finance, who open a project account. At this stage the project is recorded on the University's Web Access Research Portal (WARP). Milestone tracking is conducted by ORS and you will receive ongoing automated reminders if the deliverable is overdue. Please advise ORS when each deliverable is met.
Sometimes it is necessary to vary the contractual terms if there has been a significant change to the project. ORS will facilitate this process on your behalf.
If a Chief Investigator is leaving UTas, it is important that you contact ORS who will assist in determining if funding needs to be transferred (see: Transferring Funding).
