Risk management for externally-funded projects is the responsibility of the Chief Investigator and Head of School. The Chief Investigator should complete a risk assessment at the approval/proposal stage. The Clearance Form for all externally-funded projects includes a statement signed by the Chief Investigator and Head of School that a risk assessment has been carried out and that identified risks will be appropriately managed.
The University has a Risk Management Policy. This prescribes the UTas Risk Matrix which is a standardised Risk Matrix for all UTas risk assessments.&The Risk Matrix sets out risk levels and consequences of events.
Assistance and support is available from the Risk Management and Audit Assurance Office.
