The Consultancy and Contract Research team  provides a complete contract management service which deals with all of the complex administrative and legal requirements.  We will:

• Assist you with your budget
• Prepare and finalise your contract, and negotiate with your client and obtain legal advice
• Open your project account
• Track your milestones
• Issue your invoices.

ORS have a Consultancy costing tool available to assist researchers in calculating project costs. (updated: February 2013, a summary of updates are noted in the spreadsheet tools tab. Please save the Excel file to your computer and open from there - Excel Macros should be enabled). Apple Mac users who experience difficulties may use the alternative file provided

In order to facilitate this, we will ask you to provide the following information:

1. Is the project a Consultancy or Contract Research? This will dictate the exact documentation required from you.

3. Project Costing - UTAS Research Costing Tool (Apple Mac Version here)
   
4. Project Brief - If one exists, it is useful as a basis for the initial draft of the contract.
5. Contract - If your client has already provided one. Normally, we will either prepare one, or contact your client on your behalf.

Processing consultancies and contracts is a complex matter, and there are many aspects to consider, such as the University's indirect costs. We would urge researchers to contact the team at the earliest opportunity, so we can help you finalise your costings and help to progress your research.
