Candidates are required to assign their intellectual property to the University through a 'Deed of Assignment' in cases where the proposed project falls into one of the following categories:
If an assignment of intellectual property is required, the Graduate Research Office will advise the candidate at the appropriate time. For more information and advice for candidates and supervisors, see Intellectual Property and the Intellectual Property (Ordinance 18).
Note: If advised that the assignment of intellectual property is required, a candidate is required to complete and sign two original Deeds of Assignment.
