The use of biomass as a source of renewable energy has significant potential for application in Tasmania, which has both significant agriculture and forest industries. The project will investigate the potential biomass sources and relate these to electricity and waste heat use.
The project will focus on the optimisation of commercial systems for application to the available product and the modelling of system integration into the local transmission grid.
