BHP Billiton TEMCO Community Foundation Elite Research Scholarship

The BHP Billiton TEMCO Community Foundation Elite Research Scholarship is provided to a student for research relevant to the communities of northern Tasmania.   Possible research areas include energy efficiency, renewable energy generation, carbon emissions reduction, sustainable practices, engineering, electrical engineering, material science, chemistry, occupational health and safety, information technology systems, harm reduction, community health and fitness.

Successful applicants must have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies and have achieved first class honours or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.  Scholarships are only available those who will be undertaking a full-time PhD program at the University of Tasmania.

The stipend is $7,500pa non-taxable.  The successful recipient will also be awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award or Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship at a stipend of $23,728pa

Applicants should complete the Application for Admission and Scholarship for Higher Degree Research Candidature (see How to Apply) and indicate in Section 9.1 Scholarship Support – Domestic, that you wish to be considered for the BHP Billiton TEMCO Community Foundation Elite Research Scholarship.
