Dr Shellie is a member of the Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science (ACROSS) and his research focused on the development of hyphenated chromatographic techniques and chromatographic analysers. He has significant interests in the analysis of complex real‐world samples such as foods, flavours and fragrances as well as in the development of hyphenated chromatographic techniques for the characterisation of biological metabolite extracts and environmental pollutants.
An opportunity exists to pursue a research project in the area of multidimensional gas chromatography - mass spectrometry and / or multidimensional liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry. Multidimensional separation approaches afford unsurpassed separation performance and further hyphenation with mass spectrometry will deliver a system with remarkable potential for detailed chemical characterisation.
