The musical culture of Australia prior to World War II was shaped by British composers and musicians who held influential positions in institutions, and/or in concert life, and was matched by a simultaneous flow of Australian-born composers and musicians to Britain for purposes of study and career advancement. Projects may focus on the development of Australian musical culture and musical taste, or on the reception of Australian music, performers or composers in Britain.
