A team of interdisciplinary researchers based in both the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Science at University of Tasmania are developing a history based atlas of Tasmania to be produced in digital format. The research student would join the team to research the history of cartography and/or surveying in the State either over the entire period from the late eighteenth century or for a particular time period. Familiarity with GIS methods, digital presentation and some training in Australian or European history would be advantageous.
