Sense-T is a world-first economy-wide intelligent sensor network that integrates different data sources. Sense-T will give business, governments and communities the tools to make better decisions.
Imagine a future where we can do more with less - less resources, less impact on the environment and less conflict. Using leading edge research, Sense-T is creating the future now.
Sense-T is a partnership program between the University of Tasmania, CSIRO, the Tasmanian Government and IBM: see www.Sense-T.org.au.
UTAS is offering 10 Elite PhD scholarships to work on Sense-T projects in diverse disciplines such as agricultural and environmental sciences; business and economics; chemistry; computing and information systems; education; engineering; forestry; geospatial science; law; marine science; maritime research and social sciences.
These scholarships also offer opportunities for industry experience with Sense-T partners.
Elite PhD scholarships provide over $30,000 per annum for 3 years with a possible 6 month extension. PhD candidates are provided with access to generous resources, including a laptop and access to a secure data cloud and enrolment in a Graduate Certificate in Research. Tuition fee scholarships are available for international applicants.
More information on how to apply is here, together with the application for admission and scholarship.
