As part of the University of Tasmania's implementation of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (the Code), the University has appointed Research Integrity Advisers (RIAs) to promote research integrity and responsible research practices.
The RIAs are available to provide advice to staff members and students in relation to responsible research practices as outlined in the Code, University policies and procedures, and other relevant guidelines.
The RIAs are also available to provide guidance to staff and students who are unsure about a research conduct issue and may be considering whether to make an allegation of research misconduct. RIAs will be able to explain the policies and procedures and offer advice on the appropriate way forward. RIAs are appointed in an advisory capacity only and will not be involved in any investigation or in the resolution of a research misconduct allegation.
Individuals are not restricted to seeking advice from the RIA within their own School, Faculty or Institute.
Staff and students may seek advice and guidance from any RIA.
