The main objectives of the Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) programme are to support postgraduate research training in the higher education sector; and provide financial support to domestic postgraduate students of exceptional research promise. These Awards are available across all disciplines at UTAS.

The 2013 rate is $24,653pa.

Duration:

Doctoral candidates - 3 years with a possible 6 month extension
Masters candidates - 2 years

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident
  • have been awarded a 1st Class Honours degree or a combination of equivalent qualifications and/or sector based experience
