The University of Tasmania (UTAS) welcomes applications from qualified applicants for scholarships to study doctoral degrees at UTAS, particularly in marine science, fisheries, climate change, oceanography, aquaculture, agriculture and forestry.
UTAS has a joint scholarship program to offer scholarships for PhD and PhD conjoint degrees to applicants from Chile with the Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica de Chile (CONICYT) (National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research).
CONICYT provides a scholarship living allowance and UTAS will provide an additional amount (a top up) so that the scholarship is at the rate of an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA). In 2013, the APA rate is $24,653 per annum. For PhDs the scholarship is provided for up to 4 years and for PhD conjoint programs it is provided for up to 2 years while the candidate is at UTAS.
The arrangement also provides for a tuition fee discount. For further information on the tuition fees in general see here and for more information on the fee discount contact Vanessa.Griggs@utas.edu.au.
School arrangements for children of successful international applicants are made through the Tasmanian Government. Further information is available here and application forms are available here.
