Humane Endpoints Website
We recommend all researchers and laboratory staff working with rats and mice view this site.
This interactive website is now available for training in humane endpoints in animal experimentation. The site is produced by the makers of the Humane Endpoints Interactive CD and contains updated information. It is intended for people professionally involved in biomedical research and the laboratory animal field.
The website contains general information on animal experiments, assessing animal health status and the importance of use and types of humane endpoints. A new secured section is accessible on request from info@humane-endpoints.info and contains further information, photo and video material. The site also contains information on:
- normal behavior and physiology of mice and rats;
- pain and distress;
- clinical signs;
- assessment of pain and distress;
- pathology;
- interactive training modules;
- a forum;
- an extensive visual (photographs and videos) database.
Please note: This site does not contain specific information on Australian and Tasmanian Law regarding the use and treatment of animals in research. Please see the Animal Welfare and Ethics page for this important information.
