Mouse and Rat Passport (intended to provide husbandry and welfare information for establishments receiving genetically altered mice and rats. The passport does not replace any requirements for Australian Government department permission for the movement of animals, import licences or Health Certification).
For UTAS Employees/Students Involved in External/Joint Research
Please ensure you submit all forms in pdf format to the ethics officer by 5PM on the monthly submission date. Applications received after this time will not be added to the agenda for consideration that month.
- It is a requirement that the Animal Ethics Committee is notified of all animal research projects involving University of Tasmania employees, students and postgraduate candidates, irrespective of whether the research is undertaken at UTAS using UTAS facilities, or at other organisations using the Registration of Intention form.
- All applications involving lab animals MUST be signed off by the Animal Services manager (paul.scowen@utas.edu.au) BEFORE they are submitted to the AEC
- An application form must be completed for all observational studies
- It is a requirement of the AEC that all Responsible Investigators and Associate Investigators have attended an Ethics training seminar within the last three years.If this is not the case it is important that you contact the animal.ethics@utas.edu.au for the next available session.
- It is the responsibility of the Responsible Investigator to ensure that all Associate Investigators have read and signed the application document. Failure to do this can delay consideration by the AEC.
