The Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) is a veterinarian and provides advice to the Animal Ethics Committee, staff and students on requirements and responsibilities associated with the care, housing, maintenance and welfare of animals and provides clinical diagnostic and treatment services for animals
The Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) is responsible to the Animal Ethics Committee for ensuring that the University meets all standards, guidelines and regulations in regard to the care and supervision of animals used in teaching and research.
The AWO is an ex officio member of the Animal Ethics Committee and provides advice on the review of all applications for animal ethics approval.
