Section 8: Collaborative Research across Institutions
Cross References:- Section 8 of the Australian Code
- Collaborative Research Policy (under development)
- Conflicts of Interest in Research (under development)
Research involving a wide range of collaborations – including within institutions, between institutions, and internationally – has increased markedly in recent times. This increase has resulted in the need to clarify many issues both before and during the conduct of the research, including the sharing of intellectual property, the management of research findings and conflicts of interest, and the commercialisation of research outcomes. Section 8 of the Code provides guidance on the responsibilities of institutions and researchers in managing collaborative research. The University’s policies and procedures relating to this section of the Code will be developed by the Australian Code Steering Committee by the beginning of 2013.
