NHMRC Fellows

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is Australia’s largest health and medical research funding body.

NHMRC invests in the highest quality research and researchers to advance health and medical knowledge and improve the health status of all Australians through several fellowship schemes:

  • Practitioner Fellowships support clinicians, public health or health service professionals to engage in research related to their professional activities
  • NHMRC-ARC Dementia Fellowships support the best emerging dementia researchers and seek to attract scientists into dementia research from other fields
  • Research Fellowships support leading health and medical researchers in full-time research
  • Early Career Fellowships foster career development at the postdoctoral level by encouraging the beneficial experience of a different research environment
  • Career Development Fellowships recognise and provide support for the most outstanding early to mid-career health and medical researchers
