The Office of Research Services (ORS) is very pleased to announce the continuation of the ARC Application Development Program in 2013.
The program will continue to offer UTAS researchers the same rigorous application development support, mentoring and review processes for the larger ARC funding rounds for schemes such as Linkage Projects, Discovery Projects, Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) and Future Fellowships.
In 2013, the program will continue to be comprised of a series of scheme specific seminars and web resources, as well as access to more specialised peer review and advice. The mentoring component of the program has also been enriched with the recent formation of network of mentors and the continuing support and involvement of the UTAS Associate Deans of Research in the program's development.
Feedback from researchers who participated in the 2012 pilot program suggested that the program was a positive learning experience which helped them improve their grant writing skills for competitive category 1 applications, allowed them to self-reflect on their distinct 'brand' as well as articulate their research proposal in a clear and succinct manner.
Across the whole university, in 2012 we saw a dramatic improvement in both the quality and quantity of applications as well as in our success rate for ARC funding compared to previous years.
