The Simulated Learning Environments (SLE's) house a vast range of equipment to meet the learning needs of health professionals for simulated learning. The equipment, along with the physical structure of the SLE's, have been purchased and developed based on consultation with practicing clinicians teaching in the acute and primary care settings. Along with a range of suitable consumables, the following equipment is available for use:

• Human Patient Simulators including 3G, VitalSim and ALS manikins
• IV arms and epidermis pads (& consumables for IV insertion and venepuncture)
• Defibrillator/ECG monitor
• Male /female catheterisation model
• Resusci Anne CPRD Skills trainer
• Basic and advanced airway equipment
• X-ray box
• Birthing simulator
• Female pelvic structure and baby with placenta
• Paediatric airway equipment (manikins & part task trainers)
• Lung sounds simulator
• Lumber puncture trainer
• Arterial wrist pad task trainer
• Pelvic model with ovaries, cervix and uterus options (& consumables for vaginal examination)

The high fidelity environment allows for realistic simulation based training, for example, BLS/ALS. 

Most of the equipment in the SLE's is available for use outside the SLE. If you require a piece of equipment that is not available from the SLE it may be possible to borrow this from other clinical environments. Please contact us to discuss your teaching and learning training requirements.
