Bryn obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1987 and trained for General Practice in both city and rural hospitals in Victoria and Tasmania.
He has been an associate at the East Devonport Medical centre since 1991 and has an interest in teaching and a heart for rural workforce issues.
Bryn is a GP supervisor with Tasmania's General Practice training provider and an RACGP examiner. Bryn has combined these roles with a part-time position as Senior Lecturer in Rural Medicine at the University of Tasmania's RCS in Burnie since 2006, and currently teaches year 4 and 5 students in Burnie, and supervises teaching in general practices.
Bryn attempts to prevent his genetic predilection to cardiovascular disease with regular swimming.
