The recent Faculty of Health Science Health Careers Information sessions at Rural Clinical School’s Burnie and Latrobe campuses were hailed an outstanding success by organiser Therese Evans, Manager, Marketing and Community Engagement for the Rural Clinical School.
“The sessions targeted Year 11/12 students across the Coast, as well as parents and potential mature-age students, and the response was amazing,” she said.
The aim of the sessions was to provide information on UTAS health degrees, across a vast range of health career options. UTAS presenters, along with current/graduate students from the Faculty of Health Science, provided course and career information on medicine, medical research, paramedics, human life sciences, pharmacy, nursing and midwifery, psychology and other health science-related career paths.
“We have to thank all the health professionals who gave up their time to present at both Burnie and Latrobe, as we could not run such successful events without their continued support.”
“The sessions were a perfect opportunity to show case to potential students the many varied career options and pathways in health, and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive”, said Ms Evans.
