Rural Clinical School staff and students did us proud at the 2011 Burnie Ten.
Despite the gathering of ominous black clouds and the hail during the race some 4000 participants turned out for the annual Burnie Ten race on 16 October, 2011. The Rural Clinical School (RCS) had around 20 entrants in total.
Standout performer James Correy (Year 4 MBBS student) registered just over 36 minutes, coming 37 overall.
Student team of Nathan Burns, Jacob Wilson, Mitchell Gooch and Harry Laughlin clocked in at just over 51 minutes and student team of Patrick Lau, Mariana Sheales, Tannie Tong and Nick Ha came in at just over one hour.
The winner, James Nipperess, a university student from Sydney and track runner, took line honours in 29 minutes 58 seconds in his first attempt at the race.
The Burnie Ten is Australia's premier running event and has been going for 27 years, commencing in 1985 with only 809 starters.
