The Rural Clinical School has been awarded $3000 and received special mention on 7 October when UTAS announced the winners of the Energy Reduction Challenge.
The competition was open to all UTAS sections, service centres, schools, centres, institutes and affiliated organisations. Organisations were invited to submit details on their efforts to reduce UTAS energy consumption over the month of August.
Prizes of $3000 each were awarded to the three winners that demonstrated the greatest energy reduction and the most successful initiatives for engaging staff, students or residents in the challenge.
Our 'strong committment' to energy reducing measures was noted - along with our proposal to build a pedal powered smoothie machine!
The Rural Clinical School looks forward to implementing these and other energy saving initiatives at the school and student residences.
