- Previous to 2004, policy research manager in government leading a diverse multidisciplinary research team to produce cabinet and ministerial reviews
- over 80 academic and applied publications across health and education, with a particular focus on applied research for vulnerable groups, including 24 peer- reviewed journal papers since 2006
- sole author of research book Research for Health Policy published 2009 by Oxford University Press; lead editor in of three 2011/2012 books showcasing the work of leading international researchers
- a sole-authored 2011 9,000-word paper in the ERA-ranked ‘Aplus journal’ American Journal of Public Health described as a ‘benchmark paper’ in the field by reviewers
- currently 1)honorary adjunct associate professor for the International Centre for Allied Health Evidence, UniSA in a policy translation role 2)deputy editor of the Australian Journal in Rural health, the rural health journal of the National Rural Health Alliance 3) national research committee member of the Australian Centre for Excellence in Local Government
