Jess currently works part time for the CRH as a Lecturer and Project Coordinator, and is also currently employed part time as a Research Fellow with the Launceston Clinical School.
Jess works in a number of areas of the CRH including research, research higher degrees supervision, E-Health unit teaching, community engagement and community health development.
She has a successful history of collaborative projects and partnerships with a number of cross disciplinary stakeholders and groups such as local governments, community groups, health service providers, health promotion bodies as well as other disciplines within the University.
Her research interests include, community health development and engagement, primary health care and health promotion, interprofessional practice and learning, health and environmental sociology, qualitative research and evaluation, health education, ageing and social inclusion.
In 2011, Jess was awarded a University of Tasmania Community Engagement Grant to look at issues of health literacy amongst older Tasmanians.
Jess currently supervises a number of research higher degrees students and is the unit coordinator for the Masters in Health (E-health specialisation) Major Research Project.
