Faculty of Health Science
The Faculty of Health Science offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate degrees and a range of postgraduate courses for students seeking careers as health professionals. The Faculty continues to develop new and innovative courses to meet the ever developing careers in health sciences.
Schools
- School of Human Life Sciences
The School of Human Life Sciences is based at the Launceston campus of the University of Tasmania and provides education in human biology and related life sciences from undergraduate to doctoral level.
- School of Medicine
The School is based in Hobart’s Medical Science Precinct, with Clinical Schools associated with the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital, and in campuses throughout Tasmania and in Sydney.
- School of Nursing and Midwifery
The School of Nursing & Midwifery is a large multi-campus school with 3 satellite campuses at Rozelle and Darlinghurst in New South Wales and Hobart in Tasmania. The main campus is at Newnham in Launceston, Tasmania.
- School of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy is located at the Sandy Bay campus in Hobart. The School of Pharmacy provides education in pharmacy and related sciences from undergraduate to doctoral level, conducts research programs and acts as a centre of drug expertise for the Tasmanian community.
- Rural Clinical School
The Rural Clinical School (RCS) is one of a network of 17 Rural Clinical Schools around Australia. The school is located between the North West Regional Hospital and the North West Private Hospital in Burnie. It provides training for Year 4 and 5 medical students on-site and throughout the North West Region of Tasmania.

HealthIT is the information technology services unit, providing infrastructure, applications and services that support academic, research and business activities within the Faculty of Health Science and the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania.
