Rural Placement Allowance

Rural Placement Allowance

The Centre for Rural Health (CRH) provides funds to health students to reduce out-of-pocket expenses while undertaking placements in rural Tasmania. The Rural Placement Allowance is available to students who travel more than 40km (each way) from their home address for placements of at least one week. It is not available to students who are receiving financial support from their schools or who are receiving clinical placement scholarships from SARRAH. The 2016 Guidelines can be downloaded here.

Post Placement Survey:

Students are asked to complete a brief survey for quality assurance purposes at the end of their placement. Google Maps can be used to calculate the distance between your home address and the placement location.

Application Forms:

Interstate students should complete this application form and return it to the CRH.
