SAHANZ 2012 will be offering two tours on Thursday 5th July:
‘Statements in the Landscape: Notable Estates of the Norfolk Plains’ will take delegates to three of the most notable 19th century estates and homesteads in northern Tasmania – Clarendon, Woolmers and Brickendon. The tour will be led by Andrew Gregg, who is currently researching the gentry in northern Tasmania.
Tour (by bus) to depart the School of Architecture & Design at 10:00am Thursday 5th July, returning by 4:00pm. Due to transport and site admissions, places on the tour must be booked and a charge of AUD$45/person will apply. A simple lunch will be available for purchase at Woolmers.
‘Launceston Walking Tour’ will be a guided walking tour of central Launceston, visiting some of the city’s notable buildings and sites.
Walking tour to depart from central Launceston (venue to be advised) at 2:00pm, Thursday 5th July.
