Antarctic Science

Overview

UTAS utilises our unique location and proximity to diverse ecosystems such as Antarctica and the Southern Ocean to conduct research and teaching that has impact: targeting issues such as Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change. Leading Antarctic Scientists at UTAS and the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) research the large-scale interactions of the polar regions with the global environment, as well as providing knowledge to students for the management of the Antarctic environment and its living and non-living resources.

The Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science aims to provide students with knowledge, competencies, skills and awareness of a broad variety of subjects linked together by the common theme of Marine and Antarctic Science. This rich and diverse theme emphasises an interdisciplinary approach.
