Tips for Planning a Successful Timetable

• Attend the first lecture for each unit. This is when you receive important timetable information such as how to nominate a tutorial time and when tutorials begin - the first week of semester usually involves lectures only but your orientation and first lectures will confirm.

• Lecture times are usually set, and each session is unique - ideally, you should attend every lecture.

• For some units, there may be multiple tutorial and practical class times offered each week - these are repeat classes. The online 'All classes' timetable will display every possible tutorial or prac class time - you will generally need to choose and attend only one of these times each week.

• If you are enrolled in Year 1 Earth Science, Geography, Plant Science, or Zoology units in Semester 1, you may have been allocated to a specific practical class time for each unit. You can find out your prac allocation at your first lecture.

• Consult your unit outline or UTAS Courses and Units website to determine which classes you need to attend.

How do I access my Timetable?

Timetables can be accessed online through the Class Timetable link on the 'Current Students' webpage.

You can display either your own complete timetable, or that of specific units, by entering either:

• Your student ID number 
  (this will display the timetable for all units you are currently enrolled in)

• The unit code of a unit that you are interested in e.g. 'KPA161' 
  (this will show the lecture timetable plus all possible tutorials & practical sessions for that unit)

• Multiple unit codes e.g. 'KPA161, KZA161, KXT101, KGA171' 
  (select 'Lectures only') to check for clashes between unit lectures.
  

Make sure to refine your search by selecting the relevant:

• semester
• lectures only / all classes
• campus
• year

Timetable listing

• The days of the week are listed across the top of the timetable, while the time slots throughout the day are listed down the left hand side.
  

• If a class spans more that one time slot, a box representing that class is repeated in each relevant time slot.
  

• The timetable webpage has instructions at the top, on how to customise your timetable for printing.
