Jeannie-Marie co-ordinates marketing and engagement activities across the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with Faculty staff and Student Recruitment and Marketing staff.
Jeannie-Marie is responsible for the promotion of courses offered by the Faculty, through the development, implementation and evaluation of resources and programs for students, teachers and careers advisors. These programs include the Science Experience (for students in Years 9 – 10), the UTAS Science Fair (for middle school students), and the Young Tassie Scientist program, as well as teacher professional learning opportunities, such as the Graduate Certificate in Science Education.
Jeannie-Marie works with representatives from state and commonwealth departments for science and education, and science-related organisations external to the University, to develop and implement mutually beneficial science engagement programs for students, teachers, careers advisors, and the wider community. She co-ordinates National Science Week activities, and is involved in Inspiring Australia programs aimed at increasing community engagement in science.
