Futures in Engineering ( FiE) is an eight-month program that provides Year 10 public school students with authentic worksite experiences and the opportunity to find out about the engineering profession. Students are offered the opportunity to explore the engineering profession through a unique industry-linked program that includes group activities for like-minded students and individual placements with mentors in engineering companies and organisations. Students participating in this program will be better informed to take action and to plan for an engineering career pathway.
The FiE program is a joint initiative of the Tasmania Division of Engineers Australia and Guaranteeing Futures (Department of Education).
Limited places are available each year and Applications for 2012 program closed in March.
