The Primary Industry Centre for Science Education (PICSE - Tasmania) is a project jointly funded by the School of Agricultural Science at the University of Tasmania, the Federal Government and a number of local industries. The overarching aim of the PICSE is to promote science, science education pathways, science careers and science-based industries and research to students and teachers in Tasmanian high schools and colleges. PICSE operates from both the Cradle Coast and Hobart Campuses of UTAS.
As much as possible, the Program aims to provide student experiences that create an awareness of potential tertiary pathways and the scientific careers available in Tasmania.
>Held in April each year, this 3-day residential camp for Year 10 students provides the opportunity to experience the science behind Tasmania’s primary industries in the North West through a series of hands-on industry visits and workshops.
