The Dean's Summer Research Scholarships

The Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology is very keen to introduce its high achieving students to the research activities undertaken in its Schools and Research Centres. The Faculty will be awarding scholarships of $2,000 each to allow students to work in a research group for a period of 6 to 8 weeks during the 2015/2016 summer period.

Scholarship participants will work alongside their supervisor and graduate research students to gain experience in identifying and solving research problems. This experience will provide the student with excellent preparation for future Honours and Postgraduate programs.

To be eligible to apply, students should have completed at least one full year of study in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics related degree and in a discipline relevant to the School or Research Centre they are seeking a placement in, and must have a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or more.

To apply for this scholarship students must first identify a suitable project and supervisor through discussions with academic staff, and then have the project and supervision approved before submitting the application. Successful applicants will be offered a place in the Bachelor of Philosophy and will be enrolled in the relevant Research Experience Program unit to acknowledge the commitment students make in this excellent program.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 30 October 2015. Further details can be found on the form. Applicants will be notified by the end of November 2015.
