The Dean's Summer Research ScholarshipsThe Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology is keen to introduce its high achieving students to the research activities undertaken in the Schools.
The Faculty is awarding scholarships at $3000 each to allow eligble students to work in a research group for a period of 6 weeks during the 2012/2013 summer period.
Scholarship participants will work alongside their supervisor and graduate research students and gain experience in identifying and solving research problems. These experiences will provide the student excellent preparation for future Honours and Postgraduate programs.
To be eligible to apply, students must be a current student within the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology at UTAS, have a Grade Point Average of 5.0 (credit) or more. Applicants need to be in their final year and are expecting to graduate at the end of this year and are planning to enrol into Honours in 2013 OR are about to enter their final year of their undergraduate degree. Students who have previously been awarded the Scholarship are not eligible to apply.
To apply for this scholarship, the student must first meet their Head of School to identify which projects are available. Next step is to discuss the project with the supervisor and have it approved before submitting the application.
Scholarship holders are not permitted to continue the same research project into their honours year.
