MyPassword for OS X

Keychain

We recommend you update your Keychain settings when prompted at login on a Mac you have previously used. These steps are follows:

  1. Select the Update Keychain Password option
  2. When prompted, enter your Old Password

You have now successfully updated your password for the Keychain service.

If you were unable to update your Keychain settings at login, please complete the following steps to avoid constant password prompting:

  1. Open Applications
  2. Open Utilities
  3. Select Keychain Access
  4. In the Keychain menu, select Edit
  5. Click Change Password for Keychain "Login"
  6. Enter your Old Password within the Current Password section
  7. Enter your New Password within the New Password and Verify sections
  8. Click OK
  9. Log out and log back onto your device

You have now successfully updated your password for the Keychain service.

Note: Updating your Keychain at login with your Old Password is only required once per password change. This gives the system sufficient access to your previously stored passwords, but doesn't update them for you. As you access University services you will be provided with a one-time prompt to update your password.
Keychain updates will not be required for private or Mac devices that do not require University username and password login.

eduroam

NOTE: UTAS will transition away from the UConnect Wireless service beginning in Q2 2015. If you are still connecting to UConnect, you should now reconnect using eduroam.

  • No password update required, eduroam will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.
  • Please refer to OS X - Private Computer if a manual password change is required.

IA Client

  • No password update required, IA Client will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.
  • Please refer to OS X - Private Computer if a manual password change is required.

Outlook

  • No password update required, Microsoft Outlook will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.
  • Please refer to OS X - Private Computer if a manual password change is required.

Apple Mail App

  • No password update required, Apple Mail will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.
  • Please refer to OS X - Private Computer if a manual password change is required.

Lync

  • No password update required, Microsoft Lync will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.

Global Protect (VPN)

You will need to open the Global Protect settings panel to type in your new password.

  1. Click on the Global Protect icon in the top bar, near the wifi icon
  2. Select "Show Panel" from the menu
  3. In the Settings tab you will see a password field - enter your new password here
  4. Click the "Apply" button to save the changes.

eduroam

NOTE: UTAS will transition away from the UConnect Wireless service beginning in Q2 2015. If you are still connecting to UConnect, you should now reconnect using eduroam.

We recommend you set your device to forget eduroam prior to changing password, then reconnect:

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Go to Network Preferences
  3. Select the WiFi adapter
  4. Click on the Advanced button
  5. Select eduroam from the list of saved wireless networks
  6. Click on the - button to remove eduroam and then click OK

You have now successfully updated your password for this service.

IA Client

  1. Go to Applications
  2. Open the IA Client Configuration application
  3. From the Menu Bar, click on IA Client Configuration and select Update Credentials
  4. Enter your New Password in the Password field
  5. Press OK

You have now successfully updated your password for this service.

Outlook

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click the Tools menu and select Accounts
  3. Clear the password field and enter your New Password
  4. Close the Accounts window and your Password has now been updated

You have now successfully updated your password for this service.

Apple Mail App

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Go to Internet Accounts
  3. Click on Exchange then click the Details button
  4. Clear the Password field and enter your New Password
  5. Click OK and your New Password has been updated

You have now successfully updated your password for this service.

VPN

VPN passwords can be changed via:

  1. Go to System Preferences
  2. Go to Network Preferences
  3. Select the UTAS VPN connection
  4. Clear the Password field and enter your New Password
  5. Click Apply

You have now successfully updated your password for this service.

Lync App

  • No password update required, Microsoft Lync will prompt you to update your password when the application is re-opened.
