MEETING | Australasian Early Career Urban Research Network (AECURN)

Start Date

3rd Oct 2016 3:00pm

Hobart: Room 225 Menzies
Newnham: NH.A001 (Immersive Room)
Cradle Coast: B159 - Seats 35.

Researchers interested in creating or joining AECURN in Tasmania are invited to a meeting to discuss the formation of a Tasmanian Network with a view to organising further networking events.

The AECURN is a national body focussed on creating networking opportunities for urban researchers across Australia and New Zealand. The focus is on creating a supportive environment for early career researchers who have completed their PhD within the last 5 years and those currently completing research at PhD, masters or Honours level. A cross section of current membership includes those with interests in urban transport, architecture, planning and urban design, public place landscaping and art, law, business, social sciences and as demographers to name a few.

Prior national AECURN events include running the PhD conference prior to SOAC each year and the AECURN Special Issue previously published in Australian Planner. Each state also holds both formal and informal networking and social opportunities for members tomeet and discuss matters of urban interest to them in a non-threatening environment. It is a great way to build cross faculty and cross university relationships.

For further information about this event please contact Dr Erika Altmann or visit the AECURN website or AECURN Facebook page.
