Prof Paul Turnbull (History)

By far the most profound change in the history of humankind was our adoption of agriculture, starting some 14,000 years ago. In this lecture, Professor Turnbull will explore the question why we came to adopt agriculture, and explain how our becoming farmers gave rise to new forms of social organisation that have profoundly shaped the course of our history ever since.
