Diane is a social worker with many years' experience as a practitioner, educator and manager within the fields of family violence; child abuse; trauma; grief and bereavement; mental health; addictions; youth homelessness; and education.
Diane’s work and specialisation in the area of family violence led her to further specialise in the area of trauma; particularly as it relates to children and young people affected by abuse and neglect. Diane’s work in this field has included coordinating and providing specialist therapeutic assessment, counselling and support services; therapeutic consultancy, analysis and training in relation to best practice; research; and input into policy development.
Diane has also had extensive experience providing professional and clinical supervision to a range of social work and muti-disciplinary professionals, including students and interns.
Diane holds a Bachelor of Social Work with Distinction (Deakin University, Victoria), a Master of Social Work (Flinders University, South Australia), and a Graduate Certificate of Grief, Loss and Trauma Counselling (Flinders University, South Australia).
Diane joined the Social Work Field Education team in 2011 and will continue her role as Field Education Coordinator (NW) in 2012.
