I am a qualitative researcher, working within an interpretive frame to discover how people make sense of the challenges they face in their day-to-day lives. In particular, I study how people negotiate their family and intimate relationships in the context of personal and social change.
I am exploring the emotional history of child support in Australia. I also write on the subjective dimensions of housing issues, with current work addressing the experiences and meaning-making of young people leaving state care.
Postgraduate supervisor to students working in the areas of risk, housing and families.
