Prof. Adrian Franklin has been successful in being awarded an ARC Linkage Grant.
Prof Adrian Franklin has been successful in being awarded an ARC Linkage Grant. These are nationally very competitive awards and Professor Franklin's project, entitled Creating the Bilbao Effect, will analyse the extraordinary success of MONA as an art gallery and use this information to identify, stimulate and sustain innovative collaborations between MONA, the cities of Hobart and Glenorchy, and the state of Tasmania, aimed at maximising visitor numbers to the state from art-related tourism. Lead Chief Investigator is Professor Adrian Franklin from the School of Sociology and Social Work; the team includes researchers from the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Melbourne ($201,404).
