The ABS is Australia’s national statistical
agency, collecting and disseminating statistics
relating to all aspects of Australian society.
The best way to access ABS publications
is to connect to the ABS website via
the UTAS website. The UTAS Library
maintains a subscription which allows staff
and students of UTAS to access many ABS
publications in full and free of charge.
Follow the link above and select 'Australian
Bureau of Statistics' or 'AusStats' from
the alphabetical list.
As the range of available ABS data is
enormous, it can be difficult to find what
you are looking for. As a subscriber under
the UTAS agreement, you may phone the ABS
National Information and Referral Service
on 1300 135 170 for assistance.
Mention that you are a UTAS student and
that the UTAS library has an AusStats subscription
