Admissions

It’s great that you are aiming to join the profession of social work. When you get your degree you will be recognised as a skilled professional who works to support personal and social change that contributes to individual and social well-being.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is a 2+2 degree. This means that there are two parts to the degree. The first two years of the BSW comprise the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. You complete 16 subjects during the equivalent of these two years of study. You can study part-time and some subjects are offered by distance. The second half of the BSW is completed in the BSW program and comprises the equivalent of two years full-time study. Students undertake four academic units in first semester each year and a fieldwork practicum in second semester each year.
