Lester Franks Survey & Geographic Pty Ltd is a specialist provider of services in the fields of land and hydrographic surveying, spatial information systems, industrial metrology, strategic and statutory planning, photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning.The Lester Franks Survey & Geographic Honours Scholarship provides financial and in-kind support to a high-quality student enrolled in the Bachelor of Geomatics with Honours and undertaking coursework and research in an area consistent with the company's expertise.
Mr Nick Martin is a former staff member of the University of Tasmania , and has endowed this scholarship to encourage talented students to study for the Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Sciences degree. Students intending to enter the Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Sciences are eligible to apply. The scholarship is normally valued at $3,000 per year for the four years of the degree.
Alexander Symonds Pty Ltd is an Adelaide based surveying consultancy who offers this scholarship to a student who has completed the first year of the Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Sciences course. The scholarship is normally valued at $3,000 per year, together with work experience placements in Adelaide during the summer vacation and a Professional Experience placement in the fourth year of the degree.
The Tasmania National Undergraduate Scholarships are a prestigious scholarship offered to excellent school leavers wishing to commence study at the University. Each scholarship provides a package of support with a minimum value of $10,000 per year to help with the costs of university study. The package of support offered will depend on individual circumstances but may include a living allowance, full tuition fees, support with accommodation and an establishment allowance and annual return airfare to Tasmania if you live interstate. Selection for the Tasmania National Undergraduate Scholarships will be based on excellent achievement in your studies at school and a high tertiary entrance score.
Tasmania University Scholarships are available to students who have performed very well at school, TAFE or in the initial years of university and who are enrolling for the first time at the University of Tasmania . Each scholarship has a monetary value of $3,000 per year for up to four years provided you continue to perform well in your studies. However, the scholarship may be packaged to provide greater value for individual students to meet some or all of the tuition fees for the course.
The Government of Tasmania, in partnership with the University, will offer three Premier of Tasmania National Undergraduate Scholarships each year to outstanding Tasmanian students commencing study at the University. Generally one student from each region of Tasmania will be selected for these prestigious awards in which the Premier takes great interest. The same conditions outlined for the Tasmania National Undergraduate Scholarships apply to these Premier of Tasmania awards.
Tasmania Honours Scholarships are offered to excellent students studying at honours level. Each scholarship provides a package of support structured to meet individual needs and which may include a living allowance and tuition fees. Interstate students will receive support for accommodation, airfares and an establishment allowance. The maximum value will be up to $10,000 for the one year of Honours study.
The School is often able to offer industry sponsored scholarships to students enrolling in the Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Sciences of Graduate Diploma in Spatial Information Science with Honours. The value of these scholarships is usually between $5,000 and $7,500 for the one year. Recent sponsors of industry scholarships include Hydro Tasmania, Lester Franks Survey and Geographic Pty Ltd and the Hobart City Council.
