Programs for Sessional staff

The Teaching and Learning team of the Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT) has a program specifically designed for the needs of sessional staff and tutors. It provides a foundation course in teaching and learning.

Topics covered include:

• presentation skills
• managing small groups
• managing difficult students
• asking questions
• giving feedback
• assessment
• providing information

It is a six hour program, run as two workshops, each of three hours. They are scheduled regularly throughout the academic year.

Customised sessions
School based sessions can be arranged at a time and venue convenient for participants, customised to the needs of the group.
