What is eVALUate?
eVALUate is the UTAS online student feedback system that replaced the paper-based Student Evaluation of Teaching & Learning [SETL] questionnaire. The eVALUate system was developed and tested at Curtin University and is used at UTAS to collect data about the student experience to improve learning and teaching.

There are two separate surveys to gain feedback on coursework units.
|eVALUate Unit Survey||eVALUate Teaching Survey|
|The survey asks students their perceptions of what helps and hinders their achievement of learning outcomes, their motivation and engagement and their overall satisfaction with the unit.||The survey asks students to give feedback to individual teaching staff on the students learning experience.|
|All units are surveyed automatically at every offering.||An eVALUate teaching survey must be requested online through the Teaching Survey Request Portal by the teaching staff member.|

Higher Degree Research surveys are conducted separately by SERRU for the Higher Degree Research Office.
To order eVALUate Teaching surveys
All teaching staff (both lecturers and tutors) may order an eVALUate teaching survey through the online request system as required.
Log into the Teaching Survey Request Portal using your staff username and password and follow the instructions. Alternatively an online tutorial is available to assist with the ordering process within the Teaching Survey Request Portal.
If you are ordering your teaching surveys from home you will need to login using the Virtual Private Network [VPN] to access the secure site. The software (and instructions to install the software) are available through the IT Services VPN webpage.
